Schools are divided into primary, middle and high secondary which follows 10+2 pattern of education and are affiliated to JKBOSE (Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education). Jammu:-Being a sub-tropical region and seasonal winds originating from the Mediterranean Sea influence the weather of Jammu. The southern plains of Jammu experience a hot and rainy summer with cool winters. The mountainous region receives snowfall while the plains receive light and heavy rainfall. Jammu is the hottest division in Kashmir with an average temperature of 38 °C.
Ladakh:-The dry climate makes the region a cold desert with temperatures going down to 40 degrees below zero during winters (September-May). River Zanskar freezes completely. Drass is the coldest place in Ladakh. However, the summer temperature rises to 45 degrees making it extremely hot making the mountains bare and barren.
Kashmir:- Influenced by the Himalayas, surrounding mountains and water bodies Kashmir experiences a moderate climate. It has four seasons with moderate temperatures. Winter temperatures vary from -15°C in the hilly areas too -5°C to -8°C in the plains. Pheran and Kangri (portable fire pot) help people to keep them warm. July is the hottest month with temperature up to 30°C in the plains. Autumn and springs are warmer with rainfall during springs.
